Turn To God, Be Out Of The Recession, Cleric Tells Nigerians

The General Overseer of Action Faith Ministries International, also known as Champion's Assembly, Prophet Dr Raphael Okiakpe has appealed to Nigerians to turn to God and be out of the country's economic recession.

Prophet Dr Okiakpe, who made the call in an interview with newsmen after the ministries' 7th Annual Prophetic end of year thanksgiving celebration on Sunday, further urged Nigerians to honour God's words and serve him in spirit and truth to have a solution to the recession.


He said the country's economic recession is as a result of over-dependence on crude oil and poor leadership and advised the government at the national level to develop agriculture, create industries and provide employment.

Prophet Dr Okiakpe who drew his text from First Thessalonians 5:18, noted that thanksgiving is a Kingdom prescription, stressing that Nigerians have every reason to thank God and be grateful for his blessing and favour and enjoined Christians to give God their best at thanksgiving.

He also urged Christians to be holy as they serve God, reminding them that God is holy.

He used the opportunity to invite the public to attend the crossover night by 10pm at the church cathedral, off 40 Harold Wilson Drive, behind Gospel Mission, UPE Borokiri, Port Harcourt

The Royal Father of the day  and Managing Director of Shell Gate Hotel, Rumuomasi, Port Harcourt, Chief  Francis Doukpola urged Christians to please  God in their lives and rely on him as they serve him.

He described the General Overseer of Action Faith Ministries International as an anointed man of God, saying that he has confidence in his prayers and prophecies, and praised the members of the church for the roles they play leading to the growth of the church.

Dignitaries at the thanksgiving include HRH Chief Anderson Eseimokumor, the Ibenanaowei of Ebedebiri community in Sagbana Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, who was the Special Guest at the occasion.
